V-Scope | Medical fields
V-Scope can be used in many different medical fields, such as:
  • Prenatal diagnosis with obstetric 3D ultrasound
  • Surgical planning (eg. in plastic and reconstructive surgery) with CT and CTA
  • Diagnosis of heart defects with 3D echocardiography
  • Neurosurgery (eg. for braintumor resection) with MRI
V-Scope has been successfully applied to all these fields and provided clinicians and researchers alike with new insights into their datasets.

Direct 6 degrees-of-freedom interaction with the volume data enables researchers to quickly delete structures that obstruct the view of the area of interest. An typical example of this is the uterus wall obstructing the view on the fetus in obstetric ultrasound.

V-Scope takes volume rendering medical imaging modalities a step further; creating a hologram-like 3D image that appears to be floating in front of the viewer. The depth perception of the image allows better assessment of complex anatomical structures, like for instance the blood vessels in the liver.
